Accessibility permissions are necessary to detect when you're viewing reels, shorts, and similar content. These allow the app to monitor and count the specific content viewed, provide the live overlay counter, and enable blocking — all without reading or storing video content.
When you enable "Display over other apps" permission, ReelCounter shows a small draggable pill on top of Instagram, YouTube or TikTok. It displays your current daily count in real time and gives a subtle animation every 10 videos. You can turn it off anytime from settings.
Yes! With the Friends' Reels exception enabled, ReelCounter blocks Reels from accounts you don't follow but lets you watch content from people you do. Counting still happens for everything — only the auto-block is skipped for friends.
